Zen & AI - Tech In Service Of Human Flourishing

Kannon Do Zen Meditation Center

Join us for our ongoing AI Series!

Part of Zen Lab-a community exploring the intersection of Zen, technology, & working life in Silicon Valley.

This month, Rev. William Thomas will lead the discussion. He is a St Zen priest, founder of Zen Lab, & researcher exploring the dialogue between contemplative practice & psychology. His work explores how Zen can support leadership, innovation, & well-being in Silicon Valley's technology workplace.

William is also the founder of the Dharma Bridge Project, an international interdisciplinary research initiative exploring the intersection of Buddhist contemplative traditions, psychology, & neuroscience.

Drawing on more than a decade of Zen practice, his training under Les Kaye, a renowned St Zen teacher, former IBM executive, & pioneer of bringing Zen into Silicon Valley's professional culture, William will explore how Zen can inform the future of AI & what it means to build technology in service of human flourishing.

The evening includes:

A 10-minute silent meditation

A talk exploring the evening's theme

An open group discussion

Tea, snacks, & informal conversation

Join us at Kannon Do Zen Meditation Center, a historic space that has quietly welcomed many of Silicon Valley's innovators, including Steve Jobs.
