Jonny is a Musician, DJ, and a native New Yorker, who began playing records in the 1980s, starting with a residency at the Pyramid in the East Village, a hotbed of alternative drag performance and music.

At the same time, he was playing bass and guitar in Konk, a band that – along with fellow travelers like Liquid Liquid and ESG, was front and center in that era of intense boundary-free experimentation when disco and hip-hop was colliding with post-punk and electronics.

Konk performed at many hallowed venues including Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage, Mudd Club, Danceteria, David Mancuso’s Loft, The Pyramid Club and CBGB. Konk released singles on 99 Records, Sleeping Bag, Rough Trade, and an LP on Les Disques du Crépuscule as well as their own imprint Dog Brothers. Their music was included on the Disco Not Disco Series on Strutt Records.

Their complete catalog has been re-released twice – a double vinyl Konk – The Sound Of Konk on Soul Jazz and more recently, triple vinyl and 12 page booklet on Futurismo UK As a DJ during the ‘90s, Jonny held a three year residency at Nell’s playing a NY party mix, running Dancehall 7”, Hip Hop party tracks and underground House and disco.

He was a recurring guest at House Nation — out of which came the party Aqua-Booty, started with two friends featuring weekly guests including Tony Humphries, Francois K, Danny Tegaglia, Tedd Patterson and Johnny Dynell.

Since arriving in France, Jonny has Dj’d at numerous gigs in Geneva, including Le Zoo, Motel Campo, La Graviere, 360Fever, KZERN. Out of town, Jonny has played in Paris repeatedly with DJ Sundae and Vidal Benjamin, and traveled to Tokyo—playing with DJ Nori.
